USC-16 · Defense-industry education

Educate eligible defense-industry employees at the Naval Postgraduate School

Admit eligible employees of defense firms to specified Naval Postgraduate School master’s or professional-certificate instruction in defense product development and systems engineering, charging and retaining tuition as authorized.

Eligibility gate

  • Employee must work for a firm providing significant and substantial defense-related systems, products, or services, and remain with that firm.
  • No more than 125 such employees may be enrolled at once; an annual Secretary determination must establish mission benefit and space availability without expanding faculty, course offerings, or facilities.
  • The specified defense-focused curriculum must not be readily available through other schools, and tuition must meet the statutory floor.
