Exchange space-awareness information and recover permitted service costs

Provide space situational-awareness information to, and obtain data from, eligible nonfederal entities under agreements with security, redistribution and reimbursement conditions.

Eligibility gate

  • Since January 1, 2024, the Secretary must determine that the exchange or service is necessary to meet U.S. national-security interests.
  • An agreement must restrict onward transfer and state any permitted charge and other required conditions.

Funding condition

  • Permitted receipts may be credited to the original or appropriate currently available account and merge with its period of availability; no independent appropriation is created.
